about
Nomad University exists through collaboration with cities across Japan. Instead of attending lectures arranged for visitors, members step into the culture, industry and community of a place and learn by working alongside the people who live there. That's why the relationships continue long after the stay ends.
Our mission is to reach the places tourism never does, and to do it with respect — creating time that matters as much to the community hosting us as it does to those of us who travel.

Host of the Nomad University podcast, with 100+ episodes on nomad life, migration and remote work. To date Akina has visited 50+ countries and 200+ cities while introducing regional Japan to nomads around the world.

What Nomad University does may be the opposite of efficiency. I’m moody, far from perfect, and I don’t answer 24/7 like an AI. A year-round community in Fukuoka for founders, creators and remote workers. Once a year the program runs alongside RAMEN TECH, the city's international startup conference, connecting members directly with the local entrepreneurial network.
